Denys Shmyhal and Czech Minister of Defence Jaromír Zůna discuss strengthening security cooperation

Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Denys Shmyhal, held a conversation with Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Jaromír Zůna.
Denys Shmyhal congratulated his counterpart on the appointment and expressed gratitude for the comprehensive support. The parties focused on avenues for developing defence cooperation to strengthen the security of Ukraine and Czechia.
In particular, Ukraine’s Minister of Defence highlighted the importance of the ‘Czech initiative’ for the supply of ammunition.
“Our countries have substantial potential for deeper cooperation. We are prepared to share our experience and technological solutions and to establish joint enterprises, particularly in the field of cutting-edge drone technologies,” the Minister of Defence of Ukraine stated.
The parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation under the European SAFE mechanism. Denys Shmyhal noted that Ukraine stands ready to jointly implement projects to strengthen the defence capabilities of the armies of both nations.
“Thank you for the constructive discussion and the readiness to advance strategic defence cooperation,” he concluded.
