Defence City scales up: the number of residents rises to 45
A total of 45 Ukrainian weapons manufacturers have now become residents of Defence City, a special legal framework that provides state support to defence industry enterprises.
At the end of May, Defence City brought together 31 manufacturers. Since then, another 14 companies have joined the special legal framework.
Defence City was set up with the involvement of the Ministry of Defence to support and scale up Ukrainian defence production.
Over UAH 93.5 billion in qualifying revenue
The combined qualifying revenue of the 45 residents, that is, their revenue from arms sales, exceeds UAH 93.5 billion.
Scaling up Defence City means moving to a systemic model for developing Ukraine’s defence industry. Forty-five manufacturers already have the conditions they need to invest, protect their facilities and increase output. Our task is to expand this ecosystem and turn state support into more Ukrainian weapons for the Defence Forces.
The growing number of residents shows strong demand for the support instruments that the special legal framework provides.
Incentives for developing defence production
Defence City residency offers tax and customs incentives, support for relocation and for improving the protection of production facilities, restricted access to sensitive information, simplified export procedures and more.
