Clarification on service remuneration payments to Armed Forces of Ukraine personnel in January 2026

In response to inquiries regarding the procedure for paying service remuneration for December 2025, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is providing an official clarification.

The Department of Social Support of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reports that the partial payment of service remuneration for December, made in late December 2025, was due to the specifics of the end-of-year budget process. The decision was made to ensure funding stability and does not breach applicable legislation.

All funds constituting the remaining service remuneration balance for December 2025 will be paid in full to service members in January 2026. As of 7 January, the required funds have already been transferred to lower-level budget holders (military units) to carry out the necessary payments.

Pursuant to the decision of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine No. 38/ud dated 6 January 2026, service remuneration is paid by the 20th of each month, or within three days of receipt if funds arrive later.
