Capable of reaching Siberia: Ministry of Defence codifies Dovbush T40 drone

Deep reconnaissance and precision strikes against targets deep inside russia: the Ministry of Defence has codified the Ukrainian-made Dovbush T40 unmanned aircraft system.
This multifunctional strategic-level unmanned aircraft is designed to conduct:
- deep reconnaissance;
- fire adjustment;
- precision strikes against enemy facilities, equipment, and personnel at considerable distances from the line of contact.
The Dovbush T40 has a wingspan of nearly 5 m and can remain airborne for more than 24 hours. Its operational range is sufficient to strike targets beyond the Urals and in russian Siberia.
Dovbush T40 UAS specifications and capabilities
During testing, the Dovbush T40 confirmed its stated tactical and technical characteristics.
It offers several advantages over comparable aircraft:
- ultra-low radar signature;
- a high-performance engine with an electronic fuel injection system;
- multiple options for engaging targets — one-way (kamikaze) attack missions or munition drops;
- innovative technological solutions.
In addition, the Dovbush T40 is highly resistant to electronic warfare (EW).
Dovbush T40 is among the most effective unmanned aircraft systems
The Dovbush T40 UAS was manufactured by a Ukrainian company with extensive experience in producing unmanned aircraft.
The company’s Dovbush T20 and Kotyhoroshko UASs have been operating on the battlefield since 2022 and have some of the highest effectiveness rates.
The Dovbush T20 unmanned aircraft proved to be an optimal solution at the time for medium-range reconnaissance, real-time artillery fire adjustment, and precision strikes. Drawing on feedback, the Dovbush T20 evolved into the Dovbush T40, a longer-range and more powerful strike system.
As previously reported, since the beginning of 2026, the Ministry of Defence has codified and authorized 413 UASs for use by the Defence Forces of Ukraine, nearly all of them Ukrainian-made.
