At the ‘Ramstein’ meeting, Denys Shmyhal outlined key initiatives to strengthen Ukraine’s response to the aggressor
Today in London, the 30th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) in the ‘Ramstein’ format is taking place. Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal emphasized the initiatives that are crucial for effectively countering russian aggression.
He thanked all partners for their ‘tangible support during three years of full-scale war against russia.’
russia continues to escalate, and the response to the aggressor must be grounded in strength.
The Minister of Defence emphasized that it is vital for Ukraine to actively implement the following initiatives:
🔹 PURL — it is essential to establish a clear schedule for regular funding and delivery of arms packages.
🔹 $6 billion for drone production:
➖ Interceptor drones to defend our economy and civilians;
➖ FPV drones to hold the frontline;
➖ Strike drones to maintain pressure on russian military production and assets.
🔹 To allocate $60 billion in partner countries’ budgets for 2026 to strengthen the defense of Europe and Ukraine.
🔹 Ten additional Patriot systems, plus missiles for Patriot, SAMP/T, NASAMS, IRIS-T, and HAWK systems.
“This is a critical concern, as russia intends to carry out new strikes against our energy sector and infrastructure. We are grateful to Germany for procuring two Patriot PAC-3 interceptor missile surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems,” emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
🔹 Sanctions and confiscation of frozen russian assets. Economic pressure should be intensified to leave russia with fewer resources for waging war.
“We can only prevail together, and only together can we secure peace in Europe. We thank all those who support Ukraine,” stated Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Denys Shmyhal.
