Army+ has introduced a feature allowing military personnel to schedule online marriages at their preferred times

A new feature has been introduced in the Army+ app, enabling military personnel to reserve priority date and time slots for online marriages through the Diia app.

To secure the earliest available date and time for marriage registration, a service member must submit a request via the ‘Services’ section in the Army+ app. Only verified service members are eligible for priority booking within the app.

“Ukraine has become the first country in the world where the entire marriage process can be completed online. Over 4,700 couples have completed their marriage registration via Diia since the service became available. We see significant demand for this service, particularly among military personnel. We have improved the service to allow our defenders to marry with just a few clicks, at a convenient time and even remotely,” stated Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology — Minister of Digital Transformation.

Once a partner confirms their readiness to marry, Diia will offer available dates and times to choose from. A link to the ceremony will appear in Diia on the wedding day. The online marriage ceremony, lasting up to 30 minutes, requires both parties to have an ID card or international passport in Diia, along with a verified tax number.

“Priority access to online marriage registration is a feature military personnel have requested in recent months. Army+ and Diia are responding to this demand. We recognize that many service members cannot leave their duties for several days to get married. That is why we give them the opportunity to do it remotely and without going to the State Registry Office of Civil Status Acts,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.

The service fee includes the videoconference ceremony (1,016 UAH on weekdays), a state fee (0.85 UAH), and a bank commission (1.44% of the fee amount). After the ceremony, a digital marriage certificate will appear in Diia. Couples can also order a hard copy of the certificate, delivered by Ukrposhta or courier, for 390 UAH per address.
