Anna Gvozdiar: Ukraine and Romania expand defence partnership and joint industrial projects

Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Anna Gvozdiar, during her working visit to Romania, held a bilateral meeting with Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Romania.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to deepen Ukrainian–Romanian cooperation in the security and defence sector, focusing on countering russian aggression and exploring opportunities to expand defence-industrial cooperation, implement joint military-technical projects, and strengthen institutional ties between the defence establishments of both nations.

Anna Gvozdiar thanked the Romanian side for its continued support for Ukraine and for its solidarity in countering the aggressor.
“Romania is our reliable partner in the region, and we highly value Bucharest’s practical steps in support of Ukraine — both in the military and humanitarian domains,” noted Anna Gvozdiar.
For his part, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Romania Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu reaffirmed Romania’s steadfast support for Ukraine and expressed confidence in Ukraine’s victory.
In addition, during the visit, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Anna Gvozdiar, held a bilateral meeting with Radu-Dinel Miruță, the Minister of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism of Romania.

The meeting participants exchanged views on prospects for developing Ukrainian–Romanian economic cooperation in the defence industry, as well as on joint opportunities to attract investment, promote technology exchange, and support innovative enterprises.
“Joint efforts in developing defence technologies and production open new opportunities for our countries. Economic cooperation should become another dimension of the lasting partnership between Ukraine and Romania,” emphasised Anna Gvozdiar.
Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defence also took part in the NATO-Industry Forum 2025, “Rearming NATO – Innovate, Accelerate, Sustain,” where she joined the panel discussion “Creating Space for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.”
In her address, Anna Gvozdiar stressed that Europe must recognise that the war is not confined to Ukraine — genuine peace has long been absent from the continent.
The Deputy Minister also highlighted the importance of engaging small and medium-sized enterprises in the development of the defence industry, as well as creating favourable conditions for innovative companies that can contribute to strengthening the defence capabilities of Ukraine and its partners.
As part of the visit, Anna Gvozdiar also held meetings with the leadership of Romania’s leading defence manufacturers. The parties discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation between Ukrainian and Romanian defence companies, develop joint production initiatives, and establish new supply chains.
