Anatolii Klochko: We are modernizing military aviation based on the recommendations of combat pilots

Ukraine is beginning the modernization of its military aviation, in line with the recommendations of combat pilots.
Brigadier General Anatolii Klochko, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, underscored this during his visit to the airfield of one of the tactical aviation brigades of the Ukrainian Air Force.
This is part of a series of visits, organized at the request of Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, to assess the situation directly in military service areas, analyze it, and prepare decisions to enhance Ukraine's military aviation.
During the visit, Anatolii Klochko held a meeting with the Acting Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Anatolii Kryvonozhko, Commander of Air Force Aviation, Brigadier General Oleh Zakharchuk, brigade command, and the leadership of aviation factories.
The Deputy Minister of Defence emphasized that while Ukraine is currently receiving new aircraft from our partners, it is equally crucial to modernize the existing fleet as soon as possible.
“The first of our aircraft will go through modernization. This will enhance their tactical and technical specifications, thereby improving pilot safety and operational efficiency,” said Anatolii Klochko.
For this process to be effective, it is essential that all involved parties work together in a coordinated and proactive manner.
For this purpose, the Deputy Minister urged the commanders of aviation brigades carrying out combat missions to report on the needs of their units regularly.
The Air Force Command, relevant Ministry of Defence units, and aviation enterprises, in turn, must respond promptly to address these needs.
The participants discussed the repair schedules for military aircraft in service, as well as plans for modernizing navigation, strike, and other systems.
The discussion also covered airfield infrastructure development, focusing on measures to defend against enemy air attacks.
During the visit, Anatolii Klochko and Anatolii Kryvonozhko bestowed the distinctions of the Minister of Defence and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine upon service members.
