An application for the codification of a new model of weapon can be submitted online
From now on, manufacturers of new models of weapons and military equipment can submit applications for codification online. This function is already available through the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"Our soldiers on the front lines need more modern weapons and equipment. To achieve this, we are creating the most favorable conditions for manufacturers of military equipment. We have reduced the codification process for military equipment models to 10 days, optimized many organizational processes, and launched the 'Iron Testing Ground' project. This project provides manufacturers with the opportunity to test their products for free on a military testing ground at various stages of production. Now we have introduced a new feature— weapons manufacturers can apply for codification of their military equipment models online. During the process, manufacturers will automatically receive updates on the stages of codification of their models," said First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.
How to use the online application service:
On the official website (https://www.mil.gov.ua/) in the "TOPICAL" section, there is a banner titled "ARSENAL: Window for Military Equipment Manufacturers." After navigating to the page, manufacturers can use the active link "Window for Military Equipment Manufacturers (mod.gov.ua)." Access to the service is provided through authorization via https://id.gov.ua. The data entered by the developer is protected.
"For convenience, we have provided document templates that military equipment developers need to complete. These are grouped by the most popular military equipment categories: electronic warfare systems, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), UAV ammunition, and ground-based robotic systems. The manufacturer must leave their contact details and email address. Notifications about changes in the application status will be sent to their email address. Every military equipment manufacturer will receive contact details of a specialist from the Ministry of Defense who will support the application," explained Colonel Volodymyr Rochniak, Head of the Main Directorate for Supporting the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.
Documents required for codification application:
- A description letter including the name, purpose, and technical characteristics of the military equipment model
- The testing program and methods for testing the military equipment model
- Test results of the sample, with protocols confirming each declared characteristic
- A draft of the Technical Specifications for the model
- A description of the available set of working design documentation
For additional questions regarding the codification process, manufacturers and developers of weapons and military equipment can contact the Main Directorate for Supporting the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment at [email protected].
