American investments will increase the capabilities of Ukraine’s defense industry – Sergiy Boyev

Американські інвестиції збільшать можливості українського ОПК

The potential of Ukraine's defense-industrial complex is growing rapidly, yet its active development requires foreign investments.

This was discussed during talks between Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Sergiy Boyev, and an American delegation, which included the U.S. Embassy team in Ukraine led by Ambassador Bridget Brink, U.S. Congress staff, and Robert Karem, national security advisor to the Senate Republican leader.

The parties discussed the prospects of attracting American investments into Ukrainian defense manufacturing. Sergiy Boyev thanked the American partners for the decision to invest $800 million in the production of Ukrainian drones.

“This year, the production capacity of our defense industry has significantly increased and holds great potential for further growth. U.S. investments can provide a strong boost to harness the capabilities of our industry,” emphasized the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

He also updated the partners on the battlefield situation and current security challenges, including the deployment of North Korean military personnel by the adversary. The U.S. delegation agreed that cooperation between russia, North Korea, Iran, and China poses a shared threat to both Ukraine’s and the U.S. interests.

Additionally, the parties discussed Ukraine’s military plans and the needs of its defenders.

“Our defense forces need partner support in rebuilding our brigades, as well as in training and equipping our strategic reserves,” Sergiy Boyev stated.

The U.S. delegation expressed interest in learning from Ukraine’s experience in developing defense forces amid russia's full-scale armed aggression.
