Air Assault Forces first to implement ‘Impulse’ system

The Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be the first branch of service to fully deploy the ‘Impulse’ digital system for personnel record-keeping.

The ‘Impulse’ system replaces scattered spreadsheets and paper logs, providing rapid and accurate information about personnel within units and helping commanders make decisions based on precise, up-to-date data.

“In cooperation with the digitalization team of the Air Assault Forces, we have already gained experience in successfully implementing numerous systems. Therefore, the Air Assault Forces are the first to adopt the ‘Impulse’ system. Their expertise and practical experience will help developers incorporate the insights of real users,” noted Oksana Ferchuk, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization.

The implementation process includes providing equipment, deploying a secure digital environment, configuring the system, and training users. The experience of the Air Assault Forces will enable the planning of the ‘Impulse’ system rollout across the Armed Forces, based on proven best practices.

“The paratroopers were the first to start working with the new digital product, which required additional effort from the brigades. In the end, they will be able to significantly reduce the time spent on bureaucratic procedures, automate personnel management, and lay the groundwork for developing other digital services. Moreover, their experience will be taken into account by other branches and components of the Armed Forces,” said Colonel Viktor Shchipanskyi, Head of the Personnel Directorate (G1) at the Command Headquarters of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The ‘Impulse’ is a digital personnel record-keeping system in the Armed Forces of Ukraine that optimizes the work of personnel services, provides quick access to up-to-date data on service members, and enables the rapid generation of standardized reports and documents.

The system was developed by the Center for Scaling Technological Solutions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where IT specialists with many years of civilian experience in Ukrainian and international companies are serving. The rollout of the system is being implemented by units of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
