Adaptive clothing for service members: For the first time, the MoD’s DOT has initiated procurement under the ‘Wounded Warrior Package’ initiative

For the first time, the State Operator for Non-Lethal Acquisition (DOT), the procurement agency of the Ministry of Defence, is launching centralized provision of the Wounded Warrior Package, which includes adaptive clothing and a personal hygiene kit for wounded service members.

The first tender for the procurement of adaptive clothing has already been announced, with a total value of approximately UAH 170 million. Deliveries are planned for the second half of 2025 to four Joint Logistics Centers. 

“This project is about dignity and care. The Ministry of Defence is committed to meeting the basic needs of wounded service members immediately after evacuation. "The Wounded Warrior Package should become a standard of humane treatment for everyone who defends the state,” emphasized Oleksandr Osadchyi, Acting Director of the Ministry of Defence’s Procurement Department.

All components of the Defence Forces, including units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other formations, will receive adaptive clothing. The hygiene kit will be provided to every wounded service member upon arrival at a stabilization point or military hospital.

The summer adaptive clothing set will include adaptive sleeveless shirts, short- and long-sleeve shirts, shorts, trousers, and socks. Each set will be assigned individually to each wounded service member, taking into account their medical condition.

The essential personal hygiene kit will include a towel, disposable razor, shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant/antiperspirant, wet and dry wipes, comb, hairbrush, paper hygiene products, sanitary pads, and other items.

A dedicated procurement of hygiene kits will be announced following the approval of technical specifications by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and finalization of the corresponding List of Items.
