About 10 new models of pistols and submachine guns have been put into service in the Armed Forces

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that 10 new models of pistols and submachine guns of foreign and Ukrainian production have been permitted to enter in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This decision was taken as part of the measures implemented since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the russian federation.

Pistols of foreign production from well-known US, Italian and Belgian weapon manufacturers are added to the arsenal of the Armed Forces. Most of these pistols and submachine guns have a caliber of 9 mm, however there are several with a more powerful 11.43 mm caliber.

Machine pistols are known for their lightness, compactness and efficiency. They are typically equipped with 30-round magazines, but one of the newer models can be converted to use 15-, 20-, and 25-round magazines. This model is also equipped with a double-sided folding stock and a silencer mounting adapter. All submachine guns are characterized by a very high rate of fire, which is extremely important for close combat.

Note: According to the Main Directorate for Life Cycle Support of Arms and Military Equipment, the procedure for obtaining a NATO nomenclature code for a new model of weapons and military equipment (WME) has been simplified to 10 days. Models of domestically produced WME that have passed codification are allowed to be purchased at the expense of the state budget.
