“A powerful signal”: Rustem Umerov participated in the G7 Defence Ministers’ meeting
The level of global assistance for Ukraine remains significant.
This declaration was made by the Defence Minister of Ukraine after the historic meeting of G7 defense ministers convened in Naples, Italy.
“Defense is now the top priority for us and our key partners. For the first time in 51 years, defense ministers of the G7 countries gathered to discuss global security. Receiving an invitation to join this meeting serves as a powerful signal for Ukraine,” said Rustem Umerov.
At the gathering, the Defence Minister of Ukraine deliberated with his colleagues on developing Ukraine's defense industry and cooperation with European partners. Rustem Umerov highlighted the potential for investment within Ukraine's defense sector.
“I called on our partners to invest in our defense sector. Establishing production facilities in Ukraine will accelerate the supply of weapons and ammunition,” he remarked.
Furthermore, the Minister informed allies about the situation on the front lines and presented President Zelensky's Victory Plan.
“I urged for faster delivery of the promised aid, which is critically important for protecting civilians and our military,” emphasized Rustem Umerov.
He also called on the allied nations to actively train the Ukrainian Armed Forces and supply them with contemporary weapons.
