4,000 service members have started a course on ground robotic systems in Army+

In May, the Ministry of Defence launched a course on ground robotic systems in the Army+ app. Since then, 4,000 service members have begun the course, with 1,500 having completed it and received a certificate. 

This means only 36% have successfully completed the course, making it one of the most difficult for most users. On average, the completion rate for other Army+ courses is higher and stands at 44%. Service members who completed the training note that although the topic is new and requires time to grasp, the course is interesting, informative, and well-suited for acquiring fundamental knowledge.

The new course covers the various types of ground robotic systems, guidance on integrating them into unit operations, technical maintenance procedures, and the essential knowledge required to become a ground robotic systems operator. This is the second course focused on technical military subjects. The first one, which focuses on UAVs, is currently the most popular, with over 30,000 military personnel already enrolled. 

“Ground robotic systems have become indispensable assistants to service members on the battlefield. They deliver ammunition, clear dangerous areas of mines, conduct reconnaissance in place of humans, and help save lives. It's great that so many users want to learn more about these systems and master the theory. We will continue adding similar courses to the training platform in the future,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.

Army+ now offers a total of 12 educational courses. 100,000 service members are currently undergoing training, with 45,000 having successfully completed at least one course. Since the launch of the training platform, the most popular courses have been ‘UAV Fundamentals: An Introduction to Unmanned Systems’ (started by 34,000 users), ‘Information Resilience: Cybersecurity’ (26,500 users), and ‘Fundamentals of Battlefield Communication’ (16,300 users).
