Joint defense industry projects, the military aid strategy for 2025, and preparations for Ramstein meeting – Deputy Minister Boyev met with the newly appointed United States Defense Attaché

Deputy Minister of Defence Sergiy Boyev held a meeting and discussed priorities with Major General Keith Phillips, the newly appointed Defence Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine. 

Sergiy Boyev congratulated Major General Keith Phillips on his appointment and highlighted the significance of his role in further strengthening the partnership between Ukraine and the United States.

“I am delighted to welcome you to Kyiv. A great deal of work lies ahead – summarizing the results of 2024, aligning plans for 2025, and monitoring the delivery of announced aid,” said Deputy Minister of Defence Sergiy Boyev.

He briefed the U.S. Defense Attaché on ongoing projects and added that it is crucial for Ukraine to understand the resources our country can rely on in the coming year. The parties discussed preparations for the Ramstein meeting and the importance of swift decisions, considering the situation on the front line and the time constraints. 

“Another priority is to finalize the military aid strategy. We have a complete list of required ammunition and weapons, specifying the brigades and their combat missions,” emphasized Sergiy Boyev.

The parties also discussed cooperation in the defense industry, progress on existing contracts, and investments in the production of drones, ammunition, and air defense systems. A distinct focus was placed on priorities within the framework of existing cooperation programs, including PDA, USAI, and FMF.

Major General Keith Phillips affirmed the commitment to close cooperation and continued U.S. support for Ukraine. The Defence Attaché emphasized that the American people recognize the importance of achieving a just peace and the necessary tools to make it a reality.
