State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine

Ivan Sopiga was born in 1988 in Kremenets, Ternopil region.

He holds a full higher education.

In 2012, he graduated from the National University “Ostroh Academy” with a master’s degree in political science. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and credit at the same university.

In 2024, he received a master’s degree in public administration from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

From 2011 to 2015, he held managerial positions in the Kremenets District State Administration.

From 2017 to 2018, he served as the First Deputy Head of the Ostroh District State Administration.

From 2018 to 2021, he worked in the Directorate of Public Administration of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, holding the positions of Head of the Expert Group on Corporate Governance and Privatization and Head of the Expert Group on Communications.

Since 2022, he has headed the Department of Document Management and Control at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

On April 15, 2025, he was appointed as the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
