Main tasks:
Participation in the formation of state policy on healthcare for military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service through planning, analysis, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, methodologies, and standards in the sphere of healthcare for military personnel, as well as monitoring their implementation, and performing tasks and functions assigned to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Formation and implementation of unified approaches to preserving, strengthening, and restoring the physical and mental health of military personnel, organization of medical care for them in case of injuries, wounds, and diseases.
The fastest possible restoration of combat capability and efficiency, including (but not limited to) through the adaptation of the application of NATO medical standards.
Coordination, unification of capabilities, and interaction between the military and civilian healthcare systems in the interests of organizing medical support for the troops.
Monitoring the implementation of the policy of constant readiness of forces and means of medical services for their intended use.
Identification of priority areas and forecasts for the development and improvement of the healthcare system, development and improvement of the system for preserving and restoring the mental health of military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
