New educational guarantees for service members aged 18-24: retention of study placement and stipends

Service members aged 18 to 25 will receive additional guarantees related to higher education. A draft law developed by the Ministry of Defence was approved today by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for submission to the Verkhovna Rada.
The document guarantees that service members, whether contracted or mobilized for a special period, will retain both their place of study and their stipend throughout their military service. The legislation also grants the right to pursue higher education without interrupting service, including access to leave for study purposes.
The adoption of the draft law will significantly enhance access to higher education for young service members during their period of military service.
Upon parliamentary approval, amendments will be made to the following Ukrainian laws:
- On Military Duty and Military Service
- On the Social and Legal Protection of Military Personnel and Their Family Members
- On Higher Education
- On Education
- On Professional Pre-Higher Education
