Kateryna Chernohorenko: Over 20 teams from Ukrainian defense startups have accomplished their training in Silicon Valley
Twenty-two Ukrainian companies specializing in defense and security innovations have accomplished the accelerator program hosted by the California-based SRI International scientific research institute. The accelerator program was supported by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco.
Over the course of two weeks, the teams worked alongside experts from prestigious U.S. universities, the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) of the U.S. Department of Defense, and top consulting companies.
“The selection of these teams reflects our nation's innovativeness and commitment to advancing technological solutions. We are confident that this cooperation will provide a strong boost to the development of defense and security technologies,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.
The program participants gained knowledge and advice from experts, explored opportunities for strategic partnerships in the defense sector, and presented their products to investors from Silicon Valley. For six months, leading American experts will hold mentoring sessions for them and assist in planning their market entry and securing investment.
“It was an honor to host this group of talented Ukrainian entrepreneurs. Their ingenuity and drive align with the spirit of innovation that flourishes in Silicon Valley. We look forward to assisting them in developing their projects and contributing to global security,” said Peter Marcotullio, Senior Vice President of Commercialization at SRI International, who is a strategic partner of the SRI Deep Tech Security Accelerator.
